Where is Ho`ala School located?
Ho`ala School has two separate campuses, located in Wahiawa in Central Oahu. Within 6 blocks of the high school campus, the lower campus (grades K - 8) sits on the corner of California Avenue and Plum Street. The main office and classrooms are in the U-shaped building across the parking lot from the Hongwanji temple. The high school campus is at the north end of Lehua Street, just off of Kilani Ave.
 
Is Ho`ala accredited?
Yes, Ho`ala is accredited through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), Ho`ala School is nationally recognized as a model for Character Education, and as a finalist in the “National Schools of Character” awards program sponsored by the Character Education Partnership of Washington D.C.
 
What are classroom ratios?
Classroom teacher to student ratios average 1:11.
 
Who attends Ho`ala School?
Students from K-12 attend Ho`ala School. Students have come from all over the island to attend Ho`ala, including Honolulu, Kaneohe, Pearl City, Waipahu, Mililani, North Shore and Kapolei.
 
When was Ho`ala established?
Ho`ala School was established in 1986. The High School was established in 1996, with its first graduating class in the year 2000.
 
How many students attend Ho`ala Schools?
Over the past few years, Ho`ala has averaged about 125 students from K-12.
 
How much does it cost to attend Ho`ala School?
Tuition for 2005-2006 is $6900 for K-8 and $7200 for 9-12. This does not cover the costs of uniforms, special trips/camp, or standard school supplies.
 
Does Ho`ala offer financial aid?
Yes, financial aid is also available for qualifying families. More information can be attained through the office.
 
When can new students begin attending Ho`ala School?
Applications are accepted year round. New students may begin attending Ho`ala School after completing the entire application process and upon receiving a letter of acceptance.
 
What are Ho`ala's high school graduation requirements?
Ho`ala seniors must have completed the required 24 credits, specified by the school, in order to graduate.
 
Where do graduates from Ho`ala go to college?
Ho`ala students have been accepted at many different colleges, including Fordham University, New York; American University, Washington DC; University of Santa Clara, California; University of Puget Sound, Washington; University of the Arts, Pennsylvania; University of Colorado-Boulder; Texas A&M, Texas; American Academy of Dramatic Arts, California; University of Hawaii, Hilo and Manoa; Chaminade University, Leeward Community College.
 
Does Ho`ala accept boarding students from overseas?
No
 
How well does my child need to speak English to attend Ho`ala?
It is necessary for all students to be fluent in English in order to attend Ho`ala School.
 
What is the cost for uniforms?

How many military families do we have?
Ho`ala averages approximately 10% military families each year.
 
What is the racial background of our students?
Ho`ala students come from a wide variety of racial backgrounds.

Yes. Ho`ala offers three different payment options.
 
When can we visit the school?
Students interested in attending Ho`ala can arrange an appointment at an appropriate time through the office.
 
What percentage of your students go on to institutions of higher education?
More than 96% of Ho`ala's graduates have gone on to institutions of higher education.
 
When is the first day of school?
School starts the last week of August for the 2005-2006 academic year.
 
Is Ho`ala a year-round school?
No, Ho`ala is on the traditional school year calendar. There is a two week winter break, one week in the spring, and the traditional summer vacation.
